This book is about a girl named Katniss Everdeen, who’s sister’s name comes out at the reaping for the 74th Annual Hunger Games, and she volunteers for her.
This is a brief explanation of what the Hunger Games are and how they all started. So, North America got taken over by The Capitol and they have renamed it Panem. Panem has been split into 12 different districts in which every year, a boy and a girl between the ages of 12 and 18 are selected to compete in the Hunger Games, the Hunger Games are when 24 contestants in total fight to the death in the arena. The arena is a huge open landscape in which the contestants battle, every year this landscape changes.
Katniss and the boy who got picked, Peeta Mellark, must battle in the 74th annual Hunger Games.
