We did a really quick but fun science experiment this week. We've been learning about states of matter and looking at properties of materials. What does this "dancing raisins" experiment show us?
Fill up a glass with 7up and drop in a few raisins. The carbon dioxide bubbles in the 7up rise to the top as they are lighter. As they do this, they sometimes attach themselves to raisins and drag them up too. When the bubbles reach the top they escape and gravity forces the raisins to fall again as they are heavier than the 7up!
